WHAT IT IS

Storytellers! WebMDTV is seeking your most innovative and creative ways of telling health & wellness stories no matter if it’s humorous, inspiring, anecdotal, or abstract. We encourage you to explore analogies, write comedic sketches or personal monologues, feature real people in your community, be inspired by social trends and pop culture, and most of all think of the best ways you’d understand the body and how we care for it. You may submit either a well-developed idea OR a full written script (note prizes are different for idea and script). We don’t charge for submissions.

WHAT IS WEBMD TV

WebMD is one of the most recognized and trusted brands of health information serving consumers, physicians, and healthcare professionals. WebMD TV is a television channel that reaches patients in hospitals in over 1,500 health establishments nationwide. The patients tune in to watch our programs during the most critical moments of their lives when they need moral support, education about ongoing care, and positive distraction. Most of our existing programming is focused on post-procedure care and health education, but we’re opening doors for more entertaining and engaging videos which is where your creative ideas come in!

WHAT TO SUBMIT

TOPICS TO CONSIDER. To participate in the competition, you must submit your idea or a script for a short video that connects art, entertainment, or culture to health care, health conditions, healthy living, or anatomy. Your ideas may cover a variety of health related topics. Here are a few examples, but don’t feel obligated to select one from the list – free up your creativity and come up with your own! We want YOUR ideas!

An exploration of heart idioms is used to describe how the heart connects to systems of the body.

Popular social trends that demystify the surgical room.

A short film about someone living an extraordinary life despite having (or having had) a condition.

Educate patients about a healthy lifestyle and how to adopt healthy habits.

Any and all other ideas you and your team dreams up!

ACCEPTABLE FORMATS. This is the competition of ideas, so you don’t need to submit a completed video. Please submit an elaborated idea outline or a script. While we’ll accept any types of files from Storytellers, your goal is to present your ideas in the best way possible. Here are some examples of what your submission may include: synopsis, story outline, script, storyboards, reference images, mood boards. Try to make your submission as compelling as you can, but remember – it is the creative idea that will win the prize!
